An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to work full-time on Kent Ward in Bridlington Hospital. Kent ward is an elective orthopaedic surgical ward that carries out major and minor surgery.
We are looking for an experience and enthusiastic healthcare assistant with a desire to provide effective and efficient care. You will need to be responsive to the changing demands and priorities on the ward and show a willingness to undertake the following extended roles:
• Work alongside the registered nurses in the Surgical Pre-assessments
• Take patient blood samples.
• Cannulate patients on the ward if necessary.
• Do ECG’s in Pre-assessment and on the ward as needed.
• Take on the role of Physiotherapy for our post-op patients on an evening and over the weekends.
Kent ward has an excellent team of nursing and support staff who have extremely high standards and give exemplary patient care. Each member of the team endeavours to ensure that our patients receive the best possible patient experience.
You should possess good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. A kind, caring, compassionate and profession attitude is essential along with being able to work in a busy environment.
The job description outlines the primary role and responsibilities of a Senior Health Care Support Worker. As this contains core functions of the role, it is important to note that some service areas may have additional skill requirements which are subject to competency based assessments.
There is an expectation for post holders to be flexible in order to provide cover to other clinical areas where there is an increase in service demand.
