ROLE SUMMARY:
ENSEK designs and develops software that helps energy retailers manage their energy consumers. Our Ignition platform is a SaaS solution providing energy suppliers with tools to manage everything from quoting to sign-up, billing, collection, and service, all in real-time. As an Engineering Manager, you will support our squads in delivering customer-centric solutions using the latest cloud technologies and market-leading technology to our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to a Tribe Engineering Manager, you will ensure the quality, speed, and sustainability of product delivery. Your responsibilities include managing delivery timelines, expectations, and progress tracking across multiple squads.
1. Collaborate with the Product team to manage engineering delivery schedules and expectations, monitoring team burndown and cadence.
2. Track, monitor, and report on technical debt to ensure timely, within-scope, and within-budget product delivery.
3. Identify and prioritize technical debt within squads, taking action to address it alongside other demands.
4. Foster a positive, engaged team culture by removing obstacles and maintaining an optimistic attitude.
5. Ensure squads follow agreed Ways of Working to optimize performance.
6. Work with the Agile Enablement team to adopt tools and methodologies that improve efficiency.
7. Maintain a checklist of best practices and ensure principles are applied effectively.
8. Collaborate with Architects, Principal Engineers, and Product Owners to understand technical details, risks, and support needs.
9. Promote transparent and honest communication between Product and Engineering teams.
10. Manage team ceremonies effectively and engagingly.
11. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management for engineering teams, including PDPs and reviews.
12. Manage remote and augmented squads, fostering strong relationships and a unified team mindset.
13. Enhance stakeholder experiences by practicing and promoting ENSEK values.
14. Maintain a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships across ENSEK.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
1. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
2. Proven ability to manage, support, and coach distributed teams.
3. Extensive experience in line management.
4. Experience in managing projects and prioritizing to meet delivery timelines.
5. Client-focused approach with excellent diplomacy and tact.
6. Experience with Agile methodologies in software engineering is essential.
7. Experience in the Energy/Utilities sector is a plus.
SOFT SKILLS:
1. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen, collaborate, and influence.
