Job Title: Project Engineer\n Location: Birmingham\n Reports to: Project Manager / Senior Project Manager\n Employment Type: Permanent\n Salary: £65,000 - £70,000\n Role Overview: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Engineer to join our team and support the successful delivery of civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract conditions, CDM regulations, design and risk management, and possess excellent planning and communication skills. A can-do attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.\n Key Responsibilities:\nSupport project delivery in line with contract requirements, programme schedules, and design specifications.\nEnsure compliance with CDM regulations and contribute to design management coordination.\nAssist with programme management, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.\nUse planning software such as Primavera P6 or equivalent to support scheduling and reporting activities.\nMaintain document control and carry out administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.\nEnsure all project documentation is current, accurate, and stored appropriately.\nWork collaboratively with stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, designers, and site teams.\nCommunicate effectively with project teams, offering input to solve challenges and improve outcomes.\nUphold health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with legal and project-specific requirements.\nTake the initiative in resolving technical and operational issues on site.Essential Skills & Qualifications:\nGood working knowledge of:\n\nContract conditions (e.g., NEC, JCT)\nCDM Regulations\nDesign Management processes\nProgramme & Risk Management\nWorking knowledge of Primavera P6 or similar planning software\nProficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.)\nExperience with CAD software or equivalent technical design tools\nValid CSCS Manager’s Card\nStrong document control and administrative skills\nExcellent communication and team leadership abilities\nA proactive, problem-solving mindset and a “can do” attitude\nAbility to influence, motivate and manage relationships across teamsDesirable Qualifications & Experience:\nDegree or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)\nRelevant CSCS Card: Experienced Technical Supervisor, Supervisory, Professionally Qualified Person, or Manager\nExperience in a management role on civil engineering projects\nFamiliarity with programme planning and maintenance tasks\nKnowledge of current health & safety legislation and best practices\nValid SSSTS or SMSTS certificationWhat We Offer:\nOpportunity to work on high-profile infrastructure and civil engineering projects\nSupportive team environment focused on development and innovation\nOngoing training and career progression opportunities\nCompetitive salary and benefits package
