We are looking for two suitably qualified and experienced Lecturers for local authority contracts, based out of Crook, County Durham.
You will be required to supervise any learner support assistants allocated to their classes; prepare the learning environment including the handling and setup of specialist equipment, resources and materials as determined by the course; to guide and direct learners on their progress throughout their planned learning journey as well as possible progression options; to monitor and advise on learner’s welfare including safeguarding, health & safety; to work with all staff including management and Programme Leads.
The post may involve travel between centres and to employers’ premises including regular day time and evening working and the possibility of some weekend working. The working conditions could include classrooms, workshops / employers’ premises or in community venues. This may involve long periods of standing, manual handling, lifting, carrying and erecting of resources as well as some lone working before and after classes.
Minimum qualifications for the role are a minimum Level 5 teaching qualification, a professional or graduate qualification in the field to be taught, a current assessor award and your vocational qualifications and CPD must be demonstrated and up to date.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience of teaching within the health and social care vocational area, education (including SEND) and specifically Children’s Social Care.You will also have experience in supporting learners with differing needs and delivering both informal and regulated qualifications We are looking for someone to deliver 10 hours per week for 10 weeks, Tuesday and Wednesday, 5 hours per day (Skills for Careers in Children’s Social Care), Diploma for Residential Child Care (L3) and Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship (L4) delivery – 3 hours per week. They would also be expected to attend induction, meetings and CPD, face to face, and may be required to work at any Council workplace within County Durham
