Aqua-Tech Technical Services are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team, specialising in water and wastewater treatment projects. This role involves the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for water infrastructure projects, enuring compliance with industry regulations and client specifications. Key Responsibilities: Develop electrical designs, schematics, and layouts for water treatment and wastewater facilities. Specify electrical equipment, including MCCs, control panels, transformers, and instrumentation. Produce detailed technical documentation, including single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and block cable diagrams. Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., BS7671, WIMES, and IEC standards) and client specifications. Conduct load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and civil engineers, to integrate electrical systems effectively. Support project delivery from concept through to commissioning, including liaising with suppliers and contractors. Perform site visits and surveys to assess existing installations and provide technical support. Assist in risk assessments, HAZOP studies, and technical reviews. Ensure designs align with sustainability goals and energy efficiency requirements. Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. Previous experience in electrical design within the water industry (clean and/or wastewater projects). Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Amtech, or ETAP. Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and motor control systems. Familiarity with UK water industry standards and regulations. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Excellent communication and documentation skills.
