We are seeking a compassionate and caring Support Worker to join our team working across Wareham and Dorchester. As a Community Support Worker, you will provide essential help to the people we support living in their own home or within our supported living model. You would need to hold a Full UK driving license to be considered for this role as you would be required to drive between two different locations. Please note, Autism Unlimited does not provide visa sponsorship. The role Based in the community you would be supporting Jake who lives in his own home in Wareham. Jake is in his early 30s and non verbal. His preferred method of communication is PECS boards, so he can make his own choices throughout the day. On nice weather days Jake likes long country walks, days out to Paultons Park or going to watch a live musical theatre show such as Wicked. Jake is a huge Disney lover and so sometimes when he chooses to stay home he enjoys watching Disney films or listening to music. As part of working in the community their could be times when you would also be supporting our residents that living in Dorchester. Our service is incredibly rewarding to work within and we can safely say that no two days would be the same. One day you could be going out for a cooked breakfast, shopping at the local book store for the next best thriller, watching a football match in the community to baking fresh goodies in the comfort of someone we supports own home A day in the life of a Support Worker would include: Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication Hours of work: You would be required to work various shifts between 7am - 10pm.
