Hours Full time: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week. What you can expect We work in product-based squads using the latest technologies, patterns, and approaches. When you get here, you can expect to be integral to the success of your team. You will perform varied tasks, sometimes complex and non-routine, using standard methods and procedures. Working under general direction and exercising discretion, you will manage your own work within deadlines. You will proactively enhance your skills and impact in the workplace, actively promoting the benefits of test within your product squad. Skills and day-to-day activities Functional testing: Design detailed functional test cases and scripts, covering various scenarios and boundary values. Actively participate in requirement and design reviews, refining test plans based on insights gained. Undertake structured exploratory testing to investigate and verify functionality. Prepare test data, configures environments and automate repeatable tests. Execute tests, log defects with detailed information and analyses results to assess system functionality. Non-functional testing: Assessing systems and services to evaluate performance, security, scalability and other non-functional qualities against requirements or expected standards. Process testing: Assess documented and undocumented process flows within a product, system or service against business needs through investigation and testing. User acceptance testing: Follow agreed standards and techniques to devise test cases and scenarios based on pre-defined acceptance criteria. Analyse and report on test activities, results, issues and risks. Specialist advice: Provide detailed advice to support the planning and operations, related to test. Actively maintain knowledge in test methodologies and technologies. Collaborate with other specialists to ensure advice given is professionally sound and appropriate. The following knowledge and experience will really help you hit the ground running with us: Excellent interpersonal, organisational and influencing skills Excellent manual testing skills – web, mobile and mobile apps testing including multi-device and cross-platform consistency Demonstrable UI and API test automation skills with Playwright and Cypress Proven experience of test planning including approach, design, and estimation Strong analytical skills to review and validate requirements and technical specifications while developing and executing test plans Experience and an understanding of Agile methodologies and practices Nice to have but not essential Experience and understanding of DevOps practices, such as continuous integration for test automation Support, design, develop and enhance test processes and reporting for QA processes Experience or show an interest in creating or contributing to technical articles published on internal sites and/or for technical publications At Arnold Clark, we are adopting SFIA Version 9 framework for all roles that require digital / IT skills.
