What Are We Looking For?
Our QHSE department is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working from Cumbernauld, servicing our Operations & Maintenance team across Scotland. Your role will involve ensuring that all RSE companies’ activities are carried out in accordance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and that all persons affected either directly or indirectly are not subjected to avoidable risks.
Please note owing to the nature of this role, and location of works, this position will require travel across Scotland.
Some of Your Key Duties Include:
1. Ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with RSE’s Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems.
2. Ensure that where appropriate, all requirements under the current CDM regulations are satisfied, including assisting project teams in compiling Construction Phase Plans.
3. Provide assistance on all matters related to QHSE issues to departments and individuals within the Ross-shire engineering group of companies as and when required under the day-to-day direction of the Health & Safety Manager.
4. Carry out QHSE inspections and/or audits both at the RSE companies’ premises and construction sites, as directed by the Health & Safety Manager to ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and that persons are not placed in a hazardous environment.
5. Complete relevant QHSE inspection and/or audit reports highlighting any issues/nonconformance and issue the report to the relevant Project Engineer/Project Manager/Site Manager and to the QHSE Managers and the Company Directors.
6. Assist and advise Engineers/Site Managers as appropriate with the preparation of Health & Safety risk assessments and matters of safe working and compliance as required.
7. Produce COSHH assessments as required.
8. Communicate and liaise fully with all departments within the business.
What Do You Need?
1. NEBOSH general (Level 3) essential (or working towards).
2. Practical understanding and approach to managing QHSE, with a focus on building relationships with delivery teams.
3. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
5. Experience in the application of Health & Safety practices in both manufacturing and construction sites. Utilities experience highly advantageous.
6. Full UK Driving Licence.
