Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Service Engineer with expertise in conveyor and automation to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services to clients across the UK. You will primarily focus on electrical systems but will also handle some mechanical aspects of the equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain, and repair conveyor systems, automation machinery, and related electrical systems at customer sites across the UK.
* Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and to reduce downtime.
* Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in control panels, wiring, and electrical components using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
* Electrical system integration: work with PLCs, sensors, motors, drives, and control systems to ensure the proper functioning of automation equipment.
* Provide technical support and guidance to clients on system operations, maintenance, and potential upgrades.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns and service calls efficiently, minimizing downtime for the client.
* Collaborate with other engineers, project teams, and third-party vendors when required.
* Ensure all work is performed to the highest standard and in compliance with health and safety regulations and company guidelines.
* Document service activities, including maintenance records, fault findings, and parts usage, and provide detailed reports to the Service Manager.
* Keep up to date with technological advancements in automation and conveyor systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ, HND, or equivalent) or time-served electrician with relevant experience.
* Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing conveyor systems and automation equipment.
* Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems, including control panels, wiring, and automation equipment.
* Experience with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, variable speed drives, and motors
* Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs alongside electrical work.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.
* Strong communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with customers and colleagues.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
