About the Firm
Our client is a Top‑40 UK law firm with a nationally recognised Healthcare Litigation team. Accredited as a living‑wage and Britain’s Top Employer, they champion diversity, foster talent, and deliver outstanding client service.
The Role
You will work alongside experienced legal professionals on a variety of regulatory matters, including Health & Safety investigations, criminal defence for motor-related offences, and representing clients in inquests. The role offers excellent training and career progression within a collaborative and dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage litigated and pre‑litigation clinical negligence claims on behalf of NHS Litigation Authority, Trusts, and private healthcare clients
* Conduct investigations, liaise with counsel, experts and claimants’ solicitors
* Draft pleadings, SLA reports, schedules and other documentation
* Control diary, key dates and action lists in line with CPR and client SLAs
* Advocate at hearings and support business development (training, seminars, networking)
* Supervise and mentor junior team members, contributing to team growth
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor, 4+ years’ PQE in clinical negligence defence
* Experience acting for NHS bodies and/or private healthcare providers
* Excellent technical knowledge of clinical negligence procedure and CPR
* Strong advocacy, analytical, organisational and time‑management skills
* Proven ability to meet financial and chargeable‑hours targets
* Experience supervising, training and developing junior colleagues
