There will be no general medicine on-call commitments for the post holder.
Main duties of the job
We plan to develop innovative services to meet future demand for high quality care for people with gastro-intestinal diseases. For this post, inpatient activity and GI on-call rota will be based at Morriston Hospital. Outpatient and endoscopy sessions will be scheduled in Morriston, Singleton or Neath Port Talbot Hospitals.
We welcome candidates with sub-specialty interest in hepatology.
This appointment will provide consultant ward rounds, outpatient services, "hot clinics", endoscopic services, and GI retrieval from our Medical Admissions Unit / referral service, within agreed job plans.
The Department offers a full referral service for the diagnosis and management of patients with GI diseases except transplantation - however, the service benefits from strong links with the Liver Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.
