Are you a skilled Fire and Security Engineer with extensive hands-on experience? We are looking for a highly competent professional to join a leading fire and security solutions provider. This role is ideal for an engineer with 5-10 years of experience who can work across a broad range of fire and security systems, including open protocol fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.\n\nAbout the Role\n\nAs a Fire and Security Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, commissioning, and troubleshooting a wide variety of fire and security systems.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Covering the North East region, with occasional travel to the Midlands and Scotland (M8 Corridor), this position offers a varied and rewarding workload.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Installation, maintenance, and commissioning of fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems.\n\n * Working with open protocol fire systems and various security brands, including Galaxy and Honeywell.\n\n * Diagnosing and rectifying faults to ensure full system functionality.\n\n * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency call-outs.\n\n * Ensuring all work complies with industry regulations, health & safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines.\n\n * Providing expert technical support to clients and colleagues.\n\n * Managing documentation and reports, including system handovers and compliance records.\n\n * Participating in an on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) and working overtime as required.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nEssential Skills & Experience:\n\n * 5-10 years of experience in fire and security engineering.\n\n * Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.\n\n * Experience with Galaxy, Honeywell, and open protocol fire systems.\n\n * Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.\n\n * Excellent fault-finding, commissioning, and installation skills.\n\n * Full UK driving licence.\n\nDesirable Skills & Experience:\n\n * Industry qualifications such as FIA, ECS, or equivalent certifications.\n\n * Experience working with commercial and residential clients.\n\nBenefits & Perks\n\n * Company-provided tools, including phone, iPad, and fuel card.\n\n * Overtime opportunities and participation in an on-call rota.\n\n * Competitive salary package with excellent career growth potential.\n\nThis is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing company that values technical expertise and professional development.
