Job Description
Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a HR Advisor for an initial 4 month contract with option to extend on a rate of £200-£225/day (Inside IR35). This role will be based in Edinburgh with occasional travel across Scotland.
Responsibilities:
- To provide effective advice, guidance and support on all people related matters while ensuring that they are carried out in line with legislation, policy or industry best practice.
- Leading on absence and performance case management, which will include providing advice, guidance and support, producing associated paperwork for cases and ensuring cases are managed in line with HR Policy, escalating matters to the HRBP or Head of People (HR and L&SD) when necessary.
- Lead in analysing absence reports, and provide advice and guidance on absence management issues, occupational health referrals, and return to work cases to managers.
- Support, and lead on specific cases on other Employee Relations matters (i.e. disciplinary, grievance, etc), which will include providing advice, guidance and support, producing associated paperwork for cases and ensuring cases are managed in line with HR Policy, escalating matters to the HRBP or Head of People (HR and L&SD) when necessary.
- Attend case meetings to act as either a HR Representative in an advisory capacity, or to ensure an accurate note is taken of the meeting.
- Supporting the relocation process by establishing if an employee meets the required criteria, advising on entitlements and quality assuring and approving claims to support the process.
- Co-ordinating exit interviews for all leavers. This includes arranging and conducting exit interviews, escalating any concerns and accurately recording the data collated.
- Being the main point of contact for New Post Job Evaluations and supporting the completion of the paperwork.
- Supporting the HRBP by meeting with managers to support in workforce planning activities. Examples of this include working to confirm current establishment, discussing known changes to establishment and advise on solutions to these.
- Supporting the HRBP in the effective use of HR analytics data in order to help the business make informed decisions.
- Support HR driven projects such as workforce planning, job evaluation and organisational change.
- Work collaboratively and providing support to colleagues across the wider People Team and organisation on a number of people, matters and projects. Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of the team.
- Maintain accurate records to support the provision of monthly management information for wider business such as recruitment and absence.
- Work closely with the People Team Administrative Support Assistant to ensure that all correspondence relating to ongoing matters with employees is issued in a timely manner.
- Provide support to the HRBP and the Head of People (HR and L&SD) as required.
Essential Skills:
- Experience of working within an HR environment providing support, advice and guidance on people related matters.
- Knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience of end-to-end case management, specifically of managing performance and absence cases.
- Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including the capability to influence and negotiate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines, within a fast-paced working environment.
- Experience of advising and managing recruitment processes.
- Membership of CIPD
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of compiling and presenting reports and analysing data
- CIPD Level 5 in Human Resources Management qualification
