It plays a major part of the weekly mission activities of the Corps bringing together individuals and offering fellowship, company, and good food. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who wants to be part of a growing Luncheon Club. The successful applicant will prepare and cook good quality food for Luncheon Club customers in an effective catering service. Key Responsibilities: The post-holder will plan healthy and nutritious menus cost-effectively for the service, considering any nutritional and dietary requirements and customer opinion. Ensuring that current health and safety and environmental health and hygiene standards and other appropriate regulations and procedures are maintained within the catering facility (e.g. BFH / COSHH) and food storage is carried out to approved British standards. The successful candidate(s) will have: A good knowledge and experience in preparing and serving food in a commercial kitchen environment The ability to influence others and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, programme participants and external stakeholders Proficiency in English - it is important that the candidate understands the community’s needs The ability to supervise the work of Assistants and Volunteers and provide training where necessary in collaboration with the Corps Officer. Basic IT literacy skills preferred but not essential Candidates must also be committed to the values, aims and ethos of The Salvation Army.
