Purpose of the role
As a key member of the area sales team, you will proactively contribute to the budgeted volume, revenue, market share, and business profit targets. The key requirements of the role include:
1. Managing and developing new and existing customers in targeted areas.
2. Providing a link and support to the internal/external sales functions, the wider commercial team, and the customer services centre.
3. Contributing and achieving in our business goal to grow sales, improve quality, reduce complaints, ‘get it right first time’ and become our customer’s supplier of choice.
Key Accountability
1. Work with your territory sales managers to maximize sales opportunities through volume, revenue, and product mix.
2. Be responsible for proactively generating new business in your area through prospecting; making use of reports on closed, lapsed and new accounts, as well as using tools such as Barbour ABI and LinkedIn to identify appropriate call lists.
3. Manage area accounts using appropriate sales tools (5-minute planners, CMPs etc.), making sure that all customer interactions are recorded via Arvensis and/or CRM.
4. Ensure end-to-end account management, including managing queries & complaints for relevant accounts.
5. Follow up, in a timely manner, all quotes added to the system ensuring a record of jobs won and lost is kept; and that lost or finished job quotes are archived.
6. Alongside TSM, Bid Team and any other relevant departments complete administration for any local Government bids or major contracts.
7. Work with the cash sales team to ensure that all opportunities are qualified and priced appropriately.
8. Be responsible for reports such as GZ and ancillary pricing.
9. Support your TSM/FSM on work for special projects as required.
10. Attend and contribute to area team meetings as required.
Education/Qualification
1. Good level of education (GCSEs / A level / Diploma).
2. Working understanding of standard software packages.
