The Structured Cabling Technician will be responsible for executing structured cabling projects as well as projects in the security and fibre optic space.
Candidates must be able to provide their own transportation directly to the worksiteorbe able to get to our office in Dartmouth at which point transportation will be provided for them.
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
1. Installation of structured cabling (CAT 5E, CAT 6 and others) and fiber optics according to the requirements
2. Label cables according to defined standards
3. Perform the necessary tests after installation and makes the necessary corrections
4. Maintain strong customer relations through daily contact with customers
5. Install new services, extra outlets and equipment in commercial buildings
6. Assist senior and lead technicians in daily service calls
7. Learn and adhere to all applicable Health & Safety regulations, both legislatively mandated, and as outlined in company policy
8. Any and all other duties as assigned in order to meet Company objectives
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
9. Minimum 3 years cabling and or installation experience
10. Cabling Specialist Certification (CCS) is an asset
11. Valid driver’s license with clear driver’s abstract
12. Professional, trustworthy, and reliable with a strong attention to detail
13. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to handle calmly and efficiently situations ranging from routine to emergency
14. Ability to organize work and consistently meet deadlines
15. Ability to work both independently
16. Working at Heights and Fall Arrest Certification is an asset
17. Government of Canada "Reliability Status" clearance is an asset, but not mandatory
