We have an exciting opportunity for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Lewes, a category B Prison located in East Sussex.
HMP Lewes is a busy remand male prison with a capacity for around 750 inmates. You will be working within the Substance Misuse Team supporting patients with their recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.

Monday - Friday
37.5 hours per week
Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £31,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Provide outstanding evidence-based care to a case load of psycho-social patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Provide a programme of psycho-social interventions, along with information and advice on substance misuse, alcohol, smoking cessation, blood borne viruses and safe sex practices.
* Deliver non-judgemental care on a one-to-one basis and through group work, supporting the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care within healthcare centres and on wings and house blocks.
* Make a real difference as defined throughout our bespoke HiJ competency framework following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Qualifications:
* Relevant degree/qualification or equivalent experience
* Knowledge and experience in the provision of structured psycho-social interventions
* Experience of working within the substance misuse multi-disciplinary framework, that includes housing, social care, healthcare, and mental health pathways
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
