The Counselling Service at Westminster Under School is an important pillar of support for pupil welfare, through the provision of both counselling and psychotherapeutic services.
The School is looking to appoint a School Counsellor to help members of staff support the wellbeing of pupils.
The successful candidate will work with young people with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties, providing supportive counselling as well as undertaking more complex assessment and treatment of mental health difficulties.
Further to this, they will forge strong links with the Learning Development Department to ensure that pupils who have access arrangements and neurodiverse profiles are supported as effectively as possible.
The successful candidate must be a qualified child and adolescent counsellor or psychotherapist registered with an appropriate professional body. They will have experience providing formal assessment, treatment, and management of young people with a range of mental health difficulties, and they will understand multiple theoretical backgrounds and employ methods based upon evidence of efficacy.
