Mechanical Field Engineer / Technician (HVAC) – Contract Role Location: Shotton Mill, Weightbridge Road, Deeside Contract Duration: 8 Months (Until December 2025) Job Type: Contract Working Hours: 08:00 AM – 06:00 PM, Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break) Job Overview A leading engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Field Engineer / Technician (HVAC) to oversee the installation and implementation of HVAC systems on a high-profile project. The role involves supervising subcontractors, conducting quality inspections, and ensuring all installations comply with UK (England and Wales) standards. Key Responsibilities ✔ Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of: Air Duct Installations (supply, return, exhaust, fire-rated ductwork, insulation) VRF Systems (Variable Refrigerant Flow units, piping, refrigerant charge, controls) AHU & EF Installations (Air Handling Units, Exhaust Fans, Fresh Air Units) ✔ Oversee subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality work. ✔ Conduct QA/QC inspections to ensure compliance with UK HVAC codes and standards. ✔ Review and oversee HVAC design documentation for alignment with project requirements. ✔ Coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams for smooth system integration. ✔ Troubleshoot HVAC system issues and provide technical support during installation. ✔ Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices. ✔ Maintain project records, progress reports, test reports, and as-built documentation. Requirements ✅ Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related field. ✅ Proven experience in large-scale Air Duct Installations, VRF Systems, and AHU/EF Installations. ✅ Strong understanding of UK mechanical codes, standards, and safety regulations. ✅ Experience in subcontractor management and quality control inspections. ✅ Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical specs. ✅ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. ✅ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. ✅ Valid UK work permit required.
