THE POSITION: The role offers exciting exposure across several key areas, closely supporting the Head of Finance across a multitude of financial accounting and management accounting tasks. This role will oversee the financial operations within a busy finance team, ensuring efficient financial management and compliance with regulatory requirements. KEY RESPONSBILITIES: Accounts Payable Management: Take charge of the accounts payable function, driving excellence and efficiency. Inspire and lead a dedicated team of three professionals. Ensure smooth operations with accurate and timely weekly payment runs. Innovate and enhance accounts payable processes with cutting-edge solutions to boost accuracy and efficiency. Month-End Management: Steer the finance team to efficiently navigate the month-end process, ensuring all reporting requirements are met. Integrate J-SOX controls seamlessly into all relevant processes. Perform balance sheet revaluations to maintain financial accuracy. Account for leases in strict accordance with IFRS standards. Develop, maintain and present insightful cashflow forecasts, driving strategic financial decisions. Statutory Reporting: Expertly prepare and submit European VAT returns. Provide comprehensive UK tax and statutory data and reports, including STBV, PSA, P11d, and ESOS. Collaborate closely with the team to prepare annual financial statements and coordinate the company audit, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Be mindful of any other regulatory and compliance commitments. Other responsibilities: Oversee and manage contract administration, ensuring all agreements are compliant and up to date. Maintain and enhance financial policies and procedures, promoting best practices and ensuring organisational compliance. Carry out any other ad hoc work as requested by the line manager, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling you to tackle complex financial challenges. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, thriving under pressure. Previous management or coaching experience is a must, demonstrating your ability to mentor and develop team members.
