You will initially work alongside an experienced engineer during your training, and you will be working on clients’ sites across the UK and possibly overseas; this may require very early starts, late finishes, and regular overnight stays. All travel costs, accommodation, etc., will be covered by the company.
Your primary duties will consist of once fully trained:

6. Provide GC advice to Design Engineers in the development of the commissioning strategy and plan.
7. Compile all reports/documentation and dispatch in a timely manner as directed by the Service & Technical Support Manager or the Head of Manufacturing & Commissioning.
8. Comply with the organization’s QA and SHE systems, policies, and procedures; support required updates as the business develops.
9. Train less experienced engineers in all relevant disciplines, once qualified yourself.
Secondary Duties again once fully trained:

2. Attend all required company and department meetings.
3. Attend training courses relevant to the position.
4. Support the creation and delivery of training activities for colleagues and clients.

3. Ability to understand and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, able to advise clients on the drawings and specifications.
4. In-depth knowledge of Gas Chromatography (GC) is desirable.
5. Knowledge of PLC controllers.
6. Knowledge of pressure control systems.

8. Must be able to demonstrate fault-finding skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload under tight deadlines.
10. Strong communication skills and excellent team working attributes.
11. Full driving license.
The ideal candidate would be someone coming from an electro-mechanical background, skilled at interpreting equipment schematics and able to fault-find and quickly diagnose and fix faults within highly complex equipment.
This is a role for someone looking to enter a long-term career where the future is fairly secure, as this equipment is not only for the traditional gas sector but is also expanding into the newer green gas production environment. Highly experienced engineers are now earning in excess of £60k per year, and there is concern about a brain drain as many engineers in this sector are nearing retirement.
In return, they are offering a full training package as well as an attractive benefits package, which includes 25 annual leave days per year plus bank and public holidays, Death in Service, Income protection scheme, Employer Pension contributions, access to vocational rehabilitation, company fleet vehicles with fuel cards, and much more.
