Role: MDT and Governance Coordinator Town and Site: The Harborne Hospital, Birmingham Full time: 37.5 Hours Permanent Salary: £28,450 - £31,494 depending on experience We have an exciting opportunity for an MDT Coordinator/ Governance Facilitator to join our team at The Harborne Hospital. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment across the facility to coordinate MDTs. Amongst other activities you will be integral to ensuring the smooth co-ordination of the MDT meetings held within The Harborne Hospital by liaising with clinicians and their teams to finalise patient lists, preparing cases for presentation, attending meetings to ensure they run smoothly and taking outcomes to provide to Chairs. In addition, you will support the governance functions for example supporting the governance meeting schedule, preparing meeting packs, and working in partnership with different teams to ensure timely feedback. Duties & Responsibilities Produce a list of patients to be discussed at the meeting and distribute to all members prior to the meeting. Liaise with other organisations and MDTs in order to obtain relevant clinical information and/or imaging for patients due for discussion. Ensure MDT decisions for treatment are signed by the relevant meeting Chair and added in patients’ medical records. Record and monitor attendance at the MDT meeting. Action day to day issues ensuring resolution and escalating serious issues to the line manager. Communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with the multidisciplinary team. Administer and attend meetings and disseminate information as required including preparing documentation and taking minutes for the MDT meetings. Ensure the timely and efficient transfer of information between organisations involved in the results pathway, adhering to agreed communication pathways and protocols. Scheduling of governance meetings, diary management and creation and distribution of meeting agendas, and ensuring availability of rooms, technology and any catering requests are made in advance. Arrangement of meeting rooms, technology, catering for meetings During Meetings: facilitation of meetings, recording outcomes and data management After Meetings: data management and validation Collection of cancer patient outcomes via MDTs, Meditech and Mosaic and entry into HCA Audit Database Contribute to governance processes as directed by the Head of Governance and Risk, to be involved in a broad spectrum of administration across incidents, complaints, policy management and safety alerts. Provide administrative support/secretarial service for the Governance Team. What you’ll bring: For this role experience in an admin/clerical role or similar is essential with proven ability to take accurate minutes during meetings. Strong Microsoft Office skills are required and experience of healthcare software including Meditech, Mosaiq, ICCA and Datix would be advantageous. Very good communication skills are required to be able to work with multiple stakeholders across the Hospital. High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise workloads. Understanding of MDT meetings and their importance within healthcare. Understanding of medical terminology. Ability to problem solve and be curious about data. Must understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality. Previous experience within a similar role in healthcare is essential. Familiarity with Governance systems and processes would be useful but not essential. Why HCA UK?
