Overview:
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children within a warm and welcoming EYFS/Nursery setting in Enfield.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who thrives in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
The Role:
As an EYFS/Nursery SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide targeted support for children with additional needs.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support for children with SEN, including [e.g., autism spectrum disorder, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs].
- Assist with implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and tailored interventions.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment in line with the EYFS framework.
- Support children with developing communication, social, and emotional skills.
What We're Looking For:
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Proven experience working with children in an EYFS or nursery setting, ideally supporting those with SEN.
- Knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and best practices for supporting children with additional needs.
- A patient, proactive, and empathetic approach to working with young learners.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years Education, Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent.
- An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience supporting children with [e.g., developmental delays, physical disabilities, or complex needs].
