Key Responsibilities:
1. Delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in line with best practice guidelines.
2. Undertaking routine health checks, including blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, cholesterol tests, and diabetes management.
3. Administering vaccinations, immunizations, and seasonal flu jabs.
4. Managing chronic disease conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and hypertension, and offering advice and support to patients.
5. Assisting in minor illness and injury management, providing wound care, and supporting emergency care where required.
6. Providing advice on health promotion, lifestyle changes, and preventative care, empowering patients to manage their own health.
7. Working collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
8. Ensuring accurate and up-to-date patient records are maintained in accordance with practice protocols and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration.
2. Experience in a primary care or general practice setting is highly desirable but not essential.
3. Sound knowledge of current nursing practices, including immunization schedules, chronic disease management, and minor illness care.
4. A genuine passion for patient care and a proactive approach to health promotion.
5. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong rapport with patients and colleagues.
6. Ability to manage a busy workload, prioritize tasks effectively, and work autonomously as well as part of a team.
7. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to the needs of the practice and its patients.
