The College is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Enrichment Assistant to join the Activities Department and Trips Department. The successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the administration and delivery of our extensive enrichment programme. The post holder will support a wide range of enrichment activities across the College, including clubs, trips, sport, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), and community initiatives.
This role encompasses support for clubs and activities, trips, sports, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), and community initiatives across the College. Responsibilities include:
1. Researching potential enrichment opportunities
2. Conducting risk assessments
3. Promoting the Enrichment Programme
4. Encouraging student participation
5. Supporting the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme (DofE), assisting with promotion, enrolment, checking and sorting equipment
6. Working closely with the Sports Coordinator with booking referees and coaches and communicating with schools and colleges to arrange fixtures
7. Assisting the Trips Coordinators with the administration of college trips
The successful applicant will have a good understanding, or the enthusiasm to gain an understanding of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) and have the ability to learn new systems quickly. Highly effective communication, interpersonal, time management and organisational skills are essential, along with highly developed administrative skills. The role includes a requirement to be a College First Aider and to respond to incidents as required. The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year) (80.52%) basis. The hours of work are from 9.15am to 5.15pm, Monday to Thursday and from 9.00am to 3.00pm on Friday, with a 45-minute unpaid lunch break each day.
This role is a balance of administrative work and direct interaction with students, making confidence in engaging with young adults essential. The posts carry an expectation for some occasional mandatory evening activities, including Open Evenings.
Department
The Activities Department is located in the Sports Centre. The staff work closely in a flexible manner to ensure that this busy area is effectively operated.
The salary for this post is from £20,082.49 per annum to £20,477.04 per annum (FTE £24,941 to £25,431 per annum).
