JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: The Dolphin Centre, Poole
PAY RATE: £12.94 per hour
SHIFT PATTERN: working 10 hour shifts (paid 12) 4 on 4 off cycle.
OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION
An opportunity has arisen at the Legal & General owned Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole, for a Security Officer to join our team working for ABM on a Temporary Contract. This could lead to a permanent Contract.
42 hours contract per week on a 4 on, 4 off rotas. This contract includes days, late evenings, and some weekends. You will be paid for 12 hour shifts but only work 10-hour shifts.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.
2. Provide a security contact for customers and staff.
3. Provide excellent customer service.
4. Deter anti-social behaviour, theft and criminal activity.
5. Liaise with the Police and management when required.
6. Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
7. Deal with any difficult situations that arise in a safe and professional manner.
8. Always appear polished and professional and adhere to the Dolphin shopping centre/ABM uniform and grooming guidelines.
Key Skills and Experience Required:
1. SG or DS licence essential. CCTV desirable.
2. A full five-year checkable employment/education history.
3. Experience in corporate/retail security is desirable.
4. Experience in customer service is desirable.
5. Good organisational skills.
6. Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
7. Computer skills to include basic knowledge of MS Office.
8. Valid First Aid at Work certificate desirable.
9. Well presented, and high grooming standards.
10. Outgoing and friendly with a can-do attitude.
11. Reliable & punctual.
