Assistant EPC Project Manager Higher Apprentice - Burwell

This role is based within our Customer Connections Team. This department connects customers — such as data centres, battery storage projects, offshore wind farms, transport networks, and solar farms — to the electricity transmission network.
As a Higher Apprentice in our Customer Connections delivery teams, you’ll gain experience in all aspects of health and safety management, quality management, collaborating with contractors, and programme management including:
* Supporting Project Managers and their teams during project delivery.
* Understanding the project milestones.
* Support with project reporting and site coordination with stakeholders.
* Help with the management of the contractor’s performance to meet the key project deliverables.
* Ensure Quality and Safety procedures are being adhered to throughout the course of the projects.
* Work with contractors and third parties to develop a safety culture in line with National Grid standards.
* Support with the collection and management of project documentation.
* Attend project meetings and support with weekly reports.
* The opportunity to be involved in project planning and programme management of live projects.
* Work with Operational teams onsite to ensure and understand safety from the systems.
Location
The role will be based in Burwell, however due to the amount of travel to our site locations, you’ll be issued with a company car, subject to BIK Tax for both personal and business use. This means you will need to have a valid full UK Driving License.
About you
* You will need to have a GCSE in English Language AND in Math at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
* 2 A levels / A2: Grades A* - C (in either Math, Physics, Chemistry, Business Studies, or Computing) OR BTEC National Certificate OR Diploma Level 3 in a similar discipline at Grade Merit or Distinction
* Flexibility to travel will be required within this role, annually you’re expected to travel more than 10,000 miles for business across our regions in England and Wales (North / Central / London & South). This will include overnight stays away from home in pre-booked accommodation frequently. You must have or be working towards a full valid UK driving license to proceed with your application.
You don’t need prior work experience; the determination and will to succeed is far more important as we will teach you everything you need to know. The role will provide you with a variety of skills including transferrable skills to support your career development within National Grid.
