An opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Housekeeper at Renal Ward. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with excellent organisational skills to join our team. The main focus of this role is to maintain a pleasant and welcoming environment for patients and families by ensuring the unit is kept clean, tidy and well stocked. The role also involves helping the nursing team with the delivery of patient food and beverages, as well as providing reception cover.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the Housekeeper are:
* To work as an integral part of the ward team ensuring a high quality service to patients.
* To assist the Ward Manager to ensure the appropriate and effective delivery of facilities services.
* To supervise an effective waste segregation and disposal service ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and legislation.
* To work effectively as part of the ward/department team.
* To ensure patients have appropriate food and drink provided.
Person specification
* Literate, articulate and numerate.
* Effective use of spoken English.
* Knowledge of COSHH and Infection Control Policies or ability to undertake training in this area.
* Basic Computer Skills.
* Experience in the acute NHS.
* Previous experience as Housekeeper or in a similar role.
* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* Good team player.
* Demonstrates initiative and ability to prioritise.
* Flexible and adaptable in work situations.
Occupational
* Able to manage own time effectively.
* Aware of the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
* Demonstrate motivation and enthusiasm for the job.
* Understanding of roles within the clinical unit.
