About Us
MI5 keeps the country safe from serious threats like terrorism and attempts by states to harm the UK, its people and way of life. We carry out investigations by obtaining, analysing and assessing intelligence, and then work with a range of partners, including MI6 and GCHQ to disrupt these threats. A role in MI5 means you'll do unique and challenging work in a supportive and encouraging environment, making a real difference to UK national security.
The Role
Are you interested in managing products that help keep the country safe? Do you want to work across a uniquely diverse product environment?
Working closely with customers and engineering colleagues as a Product Manager, you'll be part of developing and delivering valuable products for the organisation and responsible for deciding which products we should build to help keep the country safe. You'll focus on your customers and their most pressing issues, translating customer needs into compelling product visions and strategies for our engineers to solve. From product implementations which affect thousands of people across the organisation to one-off bespoke products which are mission-critical, you'll manage products that vary in size and scale from idea to product retirement.
About You
Adaptable, motivated, and collaborative, you're the type of person that relishes solving problems and are willing to experiment to find a solution. A skilled communicator, you'll influence a range of customers and stakeholders. You'll demonstrate your experience - at least three years' of working in Product Management, including managing complex products, taking a strategic approach, and delivering value to customers and stakeholders. Your experience of working in a fluid, changing workplace - defining and explaining problems for a product team to solve will be vital.
Training and Development
We're committed to developing our staff and recognise this will look differently for everyone. We use the Government Digital and Data Profession Capability Framework as a compass to provide guidance and tools to support you, and which recognises and rewards specialist expertise.
Rewards and Benefits
You'll receive a starting salary of £71,053 plus additional benefits including:
* 25 days' annual leave automatically rising to 30 days after 5 years' service, and an additional 10.5 days' public and privilege holidays
* Opportunities to be recognised through our employee performance scheme
* Interest-free season ticket loan (parking and travel)
* Excellent pension scheme
* Cycle to work scheme
* Facilities such as a gym, restaurant, and on-site coffee bars (at some locations)

We therefore welcome and encourage applications from everyone, including those from groups that are under-represented in our workforce such as women, those from an ethnic minority background, people with disabilities and those from low socio-economic backgrounds.
