Deputy Headteacher
Catchgate Primary School
Leadership 6 - 10
To start September 2025
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, Catchgate Primary School are seeking to appoint an innovative and committed school leader to support the new Executive Headteacher and staff in taking Catchgate Primary School to the next level.
Our newly appointed Executive Headteacher, Jo Woodhall, will lead across both Catchgate Primary School and Castleside Primary School, and so we are looking for a Deputy Headteacher to be able to oversee the smooth running of the school in the absence of the Executive Headteacher.
At Catchgate, there are exciting times ahead with the continued development of our curriculum, teaching and learning, and EYFS provision. There will be increasing opportunities for staff to collaborate with our partner school, Castleside Primary School, as well as other schools in the Trust.
The successful candidate will have a clear vision which aligns with that of the Executive Headteacher and Trust to take the school forward. You will be a creative and dynamic professional with a real passion for teaching and learning and have the ability to build positive and successful relationships with children, staff and families based on respect, trust and integrity.
We are looking for someone who:
1. Is approachable and able to quickly build strong and trusting relationships with our children, staff, parents and carers;
2. Is warm, creative and passionate about ensuring that every child gets an excellent education;
3. Has the energy and inspiration to drive and develop the school forward;
4. Has excellent standards of teaching and classroom practice;
5. Demonstrates a passion for Early Years and the outdoors;
6. Can contribute to the development of a clear strategy and vision for raising pupil achievement and the continuous development of the school;
7. Demonstrates proven leadership skills that motivate staff to achieve the highest standards.
If you have the vision, drive and passion, we can offer you:
1. Engaged, happy children who demonstrate ‘good’ behaviours for learning;
2. An excellent and committed staff who go the extra mile;
3. Support from the Director of Primary Education in addition to the Executive Headteacher;
4. An effective peer network across the Trust’s schools;
5. Strong mutually beneficial partnerships.
