We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing care and assistance to individuals in need. This role requires compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on others' lives.
Main Purpose of Job:
* The Residential Support Worker (RSW) is responsible for assisting in the promotion of good practice and safeguarding children/young people in our care, in accordance with statement of purpose, company ethos, policy and procedures.
* They will provide care for children/young people at GRCH, supporting and contributing to the individual assessment and reviews of the individual needs and the implementation of plans for their future.
* They will support the child/young person in achieving their daily living needs and promoting living skills.
* Be actively part of safeguarding the young people within and away from GRCH and report any concerns, following policy and procedure.
Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:
* A level of flexibility is required to work shift patterns, including day shifts, evening shifts and sleeping-in duties.
* Providing person centred care for the children and young people working within the team and individually.
* Liaising and maintaining a high level of communication both within GRCH and externally; with relatives, other significant people and outside agencies.
* Forming relationships with young people which will support the care and assessment process and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered by GRCH.
* Participate in the formal assessment process, providing oral and written contributions to reports where appropriate.
* Keep up to date of developments in trends, guidance, standards, company policies in theory and practice of caring for our young people and children.
* Being familiar and up to date with company policies and procedures.
* Attending and taking an active part in team meetings.
* Participating in in-house staff development and training programmes.
* Actively promoting the role of GRCH.
General Duties:
* To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities.
* To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required within your role.

Education:
* GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

* Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
* Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Driving Licence (preferred)
* Level 3 Children & Young Peoples Workforce Diploma (required)
