This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf London, E14 4PU. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites. We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. The objective of the Healthcare Quality and Access portfolio is to drive quality and critically appraise benefits and risks to inform robust decisions on healthcare access including accelerated access pathways. It will do this by bringing together a fusion of our capabilities across both medicines and medical devices to enable licensing and market access, as well as ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. The Innovative Medicines and Population Health functions deliver risk appropriate critical appraisals of the quality, safety and efficacy of medicinal products, determining whether a products benefits outweigh the risks. Job description The post holders role covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery of the portfolio and enable the smooth running of the portfolio by supporting the Deputy Directors in Innovative Medicines and Population Health functions, and their management teams. This will be via the operation of portfolio management processes, the co-ordination of business management actions and activities, and communications to internal and external stakeholders on the behalf of management. Key responsibilities: Planning and Scheduling Facilitate portfolio discussions and use software and presentation tools to show projects status in terms of progress against milestones and resource allocations, aid discussions on portfolio status, prioritisation and resource allocation and needs. Monitoring & Reporting Keep abreast of the portfolio of medicines within HQA via project software and working with assessment teams, service coordinators, MHRA groups (including Clinical Trials, Safety and Surveillance) and HQA management to manage, maintain and update portfolio tracking systems and resource demand. Attend appropriate HQA management meetings and present on portfolio status, performance and resource demand, as well as future forecasting, as required. Service improvement Work with MHRA groups (including HQA, Clinical Trials, Safety and Surveillance, Partnerships and Communications) to develop improved models for current resource requirements to understand shortfalls and aid in portfolio management, prioritisation and communications. Development of improved tracking systems and processes for portfolio management, performance monitoring and documentation of project status. Work with MHRA partners (including the Clinical Trials Team and Technology, Digital, Data & Delivery) to develop processes and systems to support future portfolio predictions and resource requirements. Develop dashboards for communication of an overview of portfolio status and future portfolio and resource requirement predictions. Stakeholders Communicate with and respond to internal stakeholders on status of portfolio, metrics and projects as required. Triage questions arising from external stakeholders on the portfolio and respond as appropriate. Work with MHRA partners and stakeholders external to the MHRA to predict future portfolio and resource requirements Person specification Working Together Establish professional relationships with a range of stakeholders across HQA and the MHRA more widely.
