The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality of all products and for ensuring that all products comply with legal requirements and the requirements of the business and our customers.
Ensure that all practices comply with relevant food legislation, GMP and GHP.
Ensure that all quality documentation is checked and signed off at the end of production.
Review outcomes of factory related audits such as GMP, GHP, Foreign Body, Glass and Hard Plastics.
Evaluate and improve quality procedures throughout the production process from intake to despatch.
Liaise with the Quality Systems Manager on improvements or updates to factory quality documentation.
Participate in problem solving including customer complaint investigations with the rest of the factory production and engineering teams.
Liaise with the Purchasing Department when necessary on the quality of incoming materials.
Ensure that supplier monitoring data is being kept up-to-date by the Factory Quality Assurance Team and primarily by the Intake Quality Assurers.
Undertake internal audits of the Quality Management System as requested by the Quality Systems Manager.
Liaise with the Training Department on additional training for the Factory Quality Assurance Team.
Provide training as necessary to the Factory Quality Assurance Team and Line Checkers.
Manage and monitor the performance of the Factory Quality Assurance Team and take action as appropriate.
Conduct Staff Appraisals and agree Personal Development Plans with all members of the Factory Quality Assurance Team. Take on specific additional projects, as and when required, as requested by the Head of Technical or other senior manager.
Strong planning and organisational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail.
Ability to be flexible to meet business needs.
Previous experience of working in the food industry is essential.
Level 3 Award in HACCP for Food Manufacturing.
Knowledge of food legislation.
