We are seeking an experienced and driven Data Protection Consultant to join our team at a leading provider of essential services to schools and academies. Specialising in HR, GDPR compliance, Health & Safety, Payroll management, and Information Security, our client empowers educational institutions to meet regulatory requirements and enhance operational efficiency. In this role, you’ll enjoy remote flexibility with occasional visits to London. You'll play a pivotal role in guiding schools and academies through complex data protection challenges, ensuring compliance, and safeguarding sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:
* Client Engagement & Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with school and academy clients. Provide expert, tailored data protection solutions that meet each client’s unique needs.
* Risk Assessment & Compliance: Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ data protection practices. Identify risks and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to strengthen GDPR compliance.
* Incident Response & Crisis Management: Lead on data breach investigations, providing swift, strategic guidance to contain incidents and mitigate impact. Advise clients on effective resolution strategies and future risk prevention.
* Policy Development & Implementation: Draft, review, and update data protection policies and procedures in line with current regulations. Ensure clients’ policies remain robust and adaptable to evolving legal requirements.
* Training & Education: Deliver engaging, practical training sessions (both virtual and in-person) to educate clients on data protection best practices. Equip clients with the knowledge and tools to maintain ongoing compliance.
* Analytical Reporting & Insights: Prepare detailed reports with clear, data-driven insights and recommendations. Conduct in-depth research to support client compliance strategies.
* Organisational Excellence: Manage multiple client projects efficiently, balancing deadlines and priorities. Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to clients and internal teams.
Key Qualifications:
* Data Protection Expertise: Proven experience in data protection, compliance, or consultancy, ideally within the education sector. Candidates with transferable experience in related sectors will also be considered.
* Problem-Solving & Advisory Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Skilled at drafting clear, professional documents and providing strategic advice.
* Client-Focused Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients at all levels.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Office 365, with the ability to quickly adapt to other systems.
* Commitment to Professional Growth: Eager to enhance your expertise through continuous learning and development.
* Education Sector Knowledge (Desirable): Experience supporting schools or academies with compliance is highly desirable.
