Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Fundraiser to join our team to engage with potential donors and raise income for our charity across North Wales. This role will involve generating funds from different sources including the planning, organising and managing of events across North Wales. Your natural energy and passion for fundraising and your engaging personality will be key to the success of the role, as you identify suitable contacts and opportunities from which to secure essential funds.
Ideally you will have a strong knowledge and background in fundraising, preferably in the charity or not for profit sector; however, applicants from other industries who can demonstrate they have the passion and drive to succeed will also be considered. Essentially you will need the determination to promote and fundraise for the charity with a ‘hands on, can do attitude’.
The successful candidate will be able to make this role ‘their own’ and as such there should be opportunities for further personal development.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Act as the primary point of contact for fundraising across North Wales
* Network, build, and maintain strong relationships with local contacts across the region to secure funding
* Work with the charity’s Community Fundraiser (based in Cheshire) to develop opportunities with local community groups, schools, clubs, and associations.
* Develop and implement a plan to increase awareness of The Joshua Tree’s mission and fundraising needs.
* Plan, promote, and execute fundraising event initiatives that align with the charity’s values and goals.
* Work collaboratively with volunteers, external partners, and internal teams to ensure the success of events and fundraising efforts.
* Work with the charity’s Events Manager in Cheshire to encourage and support individual and corporate ‘in aid’ events that contribute to the charity’s fundraising.
* Providing regular progress updates to the Head of Operations.
* Maintain accurate records of fundraising activities and income using CRM databases.
* Collaborate with the Digital Media and Communications Executive to develop promotional materials, social media campaigns, and event marketing strategies.
To be successful, it is essential that candidates can evidence in their application:
* Proven experience in fundraising or a similar role within the charity or non-profit sector
* Experience of developing strong relationships with external partners
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
* Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
* Entrepreneurial and able to work on your own initiative to seek opportunities.
* Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to group and individual targets
* Ability to write compelling funding proposals
* Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
* Excellent working knowledge of IT, MS office and CRM Databases
* Car owner with business insurance is needed as the role requires the post holder to travel (Travel also required to our Cheshire Hub for team meetings)
