Job Description:
A unique and exciting opportunity for a Rural Investment Surveyor to join Forestry England’s national Estates team and support the Director of Estates in focusing on the strategic development of new income-generating opportunities, notably in relation to Green Finance, Renewable Energy, and broader commercial ventures.
Forestry England manages 1,500 sites across England covering over 252,000+ ha of land, including forestry, agricultural, and conservation habitats, making them the largest single land manager in England. Their regional Estates teams oversee a diverse portfolio of non-forestry assets including commercial, residential, and agricultural properties within 6 Forest Districts.
The national Estates team plays a crucial role in driving national initiatives and supporting the district operational teams by setting the strategic direction to enable efficient and effective management and the delivery of new commercial activities across the Forestry England estate.
This is an exciting time to join the national Estates team as they implement a significant transformation in their strategic asset management, net zero ambition, and financial performance. With a strong focus on growth and innovation, the team is eager to unlock more of the estate’s commercial potential, and this role will be key in making that happen.
