My client is a reputable building company that specializes in full-service design & build construction and interior fit-out works, including carpentry and joinery. They are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a Carpentry & Joinery background to join their team.
As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the full control and delivery of multiple carpentry/joinery packages to meet customer requirements (quality, cost, time, etc.) while ensuring that all health and safety, budget, quality, risk, programme, customer, and business objectives are met. The majority of projects are in London, and full travel will be expensed for site visits.
Main Accountabilities:
1. Project manage the delivery of multiple carpentry/joinery packages from design responsibilities through to handover and completion.
2. Oversee and ensure that any FIRAS contracts follow the correct installation and paperwork procedures.
3. Manage site managers/supervisors, direct labour, and subcontractors; monitor site management activities and provide direct assistance and support as necessary. Maintain contact details for the labour resources pool, advertise and vet labour, and assist with tender labour rates.
4. Adopt, uphold, and manage prescribed operation procedures.
5. Create and sustain a culture and working environment that drives employee satisfaction.
6. Manage liaisons, interfaces, and contact with customers and stakeholders to maintain positive and ongoing customer relationships.
7. Manage all correspondence related to the project and address matters arising from such correspondence.
8. Ensure that materials and resources are procured, delivered, and managed to promote the smooth delivery of each works package.
9. Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the packages.
10. Ensure that RAMS and QA documents are written to meet the requirements of the project and employer.
11. Chair site meetings, progress meetings, and project reviews with customers, subcontractors, and/or suppliers.
12. Be responsible for the safety and welfare of all staff and subcontractors under the strict observance of the Contract's safety policy.
13. Carefully manage resources to facilitate programme requirements on all live projects.
14. Manage the design process of Contractors Designed Portion where applicable.
Key Competencies/Training:
1. Good organization skills.
2. SMSTS.
3. Project Manager or Academically qualified CSCS card.
4. FIRAS certified to inspect fire doors with a full understanding of the installation processes and procedures on site.
5. Good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
6. Ability to work under pressure when required.
7. IT literate, with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.
8. Understanding and experience of using document control systems (specifically Asite).
Additional Information:
