To oversee the plants CNC technical activities, including turning and machining. To support production personnel and their commitments to manufacturing processes. To assist with technical CNC issues, including programming, fault finding, staff education / training and development. To coordinate improvement projects with regards to additional plant and replacement methods. To optimise CNC technologies through continuous improvement and general improvement. To assist with planning and efficient sequencing
To comply with the Plant’s SAFETY systems and procedures, to positively impact the Plant’s SAFETY aspirations with an emphasis upon continuous SAFETY improvement.
Programme CNC machines (turning centres & machining centres), coordinate the introduction of new CNC products.
Optimise existing CNC processes, eliminate waste and commit to continuous production / process improvement.
Assist production personnel with problem solving (day to day).
Help with the training and development requirements of production personnel.
Manage tooling stocks, ordering and distribution.
Research new tooling techniques and equipment for improved performance and reduced cost.
Responsible for defined production engineering projects and activities.
Assist with the introduction of new CNC machines and equipment.
Assist with SQDCIP and DCI actions and improvement activities / projects.
Essential
Must have a positive safety culture.
Must be committed to continuous improvement and be results driven
Must be good with people, be capable of passing-on skills and knowledge.
Must have up to date CNC machine tool knowledge and knowhow.
Must have previous CNC programming experience and capability.
Must have CNC tooling knowledge and understanding.
Must have the ability to set CNC machines.
