Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and empathetic Psychology Graduate to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. About the Role This role is an excellent opportunity for psychology graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in education, mental health, or SEN (Special Educational Needs) support. As a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may require additional support to thrive in their academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities 1:1 Support: Provide tailored one-to-one support to students with additional needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and build confidence. Small Group Work: Lead or assist small intervention groups focusing on areas such as emotional regulation, social skills, and academic improvement. Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering lessons, ensuring all students can access the curriculum effectively. SEN Support: Work with students with special educational needs, including those with autism, ADHD, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Behaviour Management: Help students develop positive behaviours and attitudes toward learning, using effective strategies to maintain engagement and focus. Pastoral Care: Offer emotional and social support to students, building trusting relationships that encourage their personal growth. Progress Monitoring: Track and record student progress, feeding back to teachers, SENCOs, and parents/carers to inform planning and interventions. Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external specialists to support the holistic development of students.
