Role and Responsibilities
My client is looking for a motivated individual with hands-on experience in Automation Installation and Products including Gates, Barriers, and Rising Bollards. This exciting role based in the South East is an opportunity to move into a Senior Management position and help a successful business grow during its next phase of development.
Good IT literacy and clear communication skills are important, along with the ability to manage the technical and installation teams on a day-to-day basis. Highly customer-focused to ensure that customers' expectations are managed and being innovative with technical solutions to run a busy engineering department.
Conversant with Health & Safety processes in general and the requirement of Gate Safety in particular, the successful candidate will use their working knowledge to ensure the Automation Engineering team is working in accordance with the latest Standards.
You will need to be a strong team player, understanding the power of teamwork and the importance of leading the ethos and direction of the business. In return, you will join Senior Management and participate in formulating the company's strategic direction going forward.
Responsibilities
1. Technical Assistance to Engineers. Visiting site if required.
2. Ordering stock and making sure it is ready on time.
3. Dealing with customer technical problems.
4. Technical on-site auditing of Engineers' installs and servicing.
5. Making sure Installations run and finish on time and within budget.
6. Ladder checks, equipment calibration, and vehicle checks.
7. Filling in on site should an Engineer go sick.
8. Providing information and completing appraisals with Management (Yearly).
9. H&S Risk Assessments.
10. Making sure Engineers have up-to-date and the correct PPE.
11. Other duties that revolve around the Engineering Department relevant to a Manager's position.
12. CAD Drawing expertise.
13. Supervise the Fabrication workshop.
