To support people in the community to access support available from the local authority, voluntary sector organisations, etc to improve their own and their household’s living conditions.
To assist people to improve their personal health and wellbeing
To help people to access specialist support as necessary
To help households to make sustainable improvements to the living conditions.
To disseminate information with useful information to support healthy lifestyles
To support vulnerable people (especially adults with learning disabilities) to have a voice in service provision at Clevedon YMCA
Main Responsibilities:
To be responsible for co-ordinating / running community activities to provide opportunities to improve the health and wellbeing of a diverse range of people at Clevedon YMCA
To support adults with learning disabilities and other vulnerable groups to access support services and to develop services to further meet their needs.
To help vulnerable people to improve their chances of gaining employment / to access educational opportunities
To be responsive to the needs of different groups within the community and involve the community in developing and implementing services relevant to their needs.
To work within and promote the policies and procedures of Clevedon YMCA and support the Christian Ethos.
All staff are responsible for reporting any concern, situation or event that would have an impact on Clevedon YMCA
To report any safeguarding concern promptly to the line manager
To keep accurate and contemporaneous records and notes in line with the organisation’s policies.
To attend and take part in meetings and training opportunities as required.
Continue professional growth and development through conferences, reading and exchange of ideas with others
To organise joint activities between Clevedon YMCA and the wider community
Be able to respond to changing needs throughout the weekly/ monthly schedule.
To complete any other task deemed acceptable by Clevedon YMCA Centre Manager within existing job role.
To use the resources available wisely, to look for ways to work in a more environmentally friendly manner while continuing to provide high quality community work.
