Role Overview
The successful candidate will complete project works, reactive response, and planned maintenance services to a wide variety of public and private sector clients throughout Northern Ireland.
What you'll do
The following reflects the main activities of this role:
* Responsible for full installation of fire alarms and security systems. The engineer will travel to customer locations, install, program, and commission systems in compliance with current relevant standards. This requires a deep understanding of current regulations, strong product knowledge, and practical skills to ensure successful project delivery.
* Respond to reactive fault calls, troubleshoot faulty systems, and diagnose issues to enable repairs, aiming for a fully functioning and compliant system.
* Perform planned maintenance on Fire and Security systems. During visits, systems will be checked for continued suitability, functionality, and to anticipate actions to reduce unplanned faults between services.
* Provide 24-hour call-out cover on a rota basis.
* Carry out any other job-specific duties as deemed appropriate.
What you'll bring
As a Fire and Security Engineer, your main skills and experience will include:
Essential Criteria
* Experience in installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance of fire detection, access control, CCTV, and intruder alarm systems according to British and European Standards, including BAFE/NSI codes of practice.
* Knowledge of products and systems installed and their limitations.
* Ability to operate PC software for configuration and maintenance.
* Knowledge of relevant Fire Alarm standards (BS:5839:2017).
* Knowledge of Security System Standards (PD 6662:2017, BS 8243:2010+A1:2014, etc).
* Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills to resolve issues logically.
