Desk Officers are responsible to OC DAPS, through their Flight Commander, for the Aircrew Publications of those Air Systems assigned to them. This may include the production and publication of Aircrew Publications, their subsequent in-Service management and direction of management processes, provision of publication SME advice and guidance to TAAs and Delivery Teams, and the provision of Assurance of Aircrew Publications to TAAs.
The role may include the following:
Production and subsequent maintenance of Aircrew Publications ensuring they are fit for purpose, by preparation of detailed technical information, including revisions and amendments to new and extant aircrew publications;
Assessment of contractor documentation where it is provided to the ADH as part of the TAA’s document set to ensure that it supports Airworthiness, Air Safety and is Fit for Purpose;
Recommending improvements within TAA provided Aircrew Publications by providing 2nd party assurance to the TAA of their Aircrew Publications and associated management processes;
Provision of SME performance advice for individual Air Systems, along with support to the TAA’s management of performance information, advice regarding the management of both traditional documentation and electronic systems, and assessment of the TAA provided information to support assurance of the TAA’s Aircrew Publications.
This role may be suited to an individual with experience in the use of, or assessment of Aircrew Publications or experience in the management or delivery of a Quality Management or Quality Assurance System, or an individual with experience in the use of, or assessment of performance information; experience of the production of performance information: an inquiring attitude and the ability to make evidence-based judgements is essential.
