About UK Infras tructure Bank We are the new, government-owned policy bank - launched in June 2021 - providing £22bn of infrastructure finance and partnering with the private sector and local government to finance a green industrial revolution and drive growth across the United Kingdom. Job Purpose As an Analyst in the team, you will deliver this mission by supporting origination, structuring and negotiating complex, bespoke infrastructure transactions. Alongside this you will work with colleagues across other functions in the Bank to ensure that transactions maximise impact, align with policy objectives and are managed soundly. Key responsibilities: Assist the team in external market engagement with investors, developers, banks and industry players by performing research, preparing agendas and taking meeting notes, to help build market presence and originate new opportunities. Assist the team in identifying and screening potential projects, working closely with the team and wider Bank functions to develop robust recommendations for the executive committee. Work closely with others in the deal team in the due diligence process, including assessment of third party due diligence provided by technical, legal, and other advisors and help produce investment papers for approval. Working closely with others in the deal team, as skills develop, interrogate external and build internal financial models to enable the deal team to assess transactions with detailed sensitivity analysis to help determine the level of risk, viability and bankability of transactions. Working closely with Treasury and Finance colleagues, develop a technical understanding of UKIB’s full product suite including, debt, equity and guarantees, to help deliver effective financing solutions that meet the Bank’s strategic objectives. Assist the Portfolio Team during the handover process with deal knowledge on closed projects to help manage the underlying risk of transactions. Develop positive working relationships with other functions in the Bank, interfacing in an open, constructive and collaborative manner. Ensure a co-ordinated approach across the Bank to internal due diligence, allowing deals to reach Investment Committee in a timely and efficient manner. Proactively commit to continual professional development and demonstrate a positive attitude towards gaining experience and knowledge by attending infrastructure conferences and from working closely alongside senior members of the wider team on transactions. Essential Skills & Experience Financially astute with sound numeracy skills Confidence in building relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders Commercially astute and skilled in understanding and digesting complex information and data as part of a due diligence process Good communicator including strong written/report writing skills Some experience in infrastructure or corporate finance or adjacent areas Training will be given in financial modelling and due diligence analysis to help candidates to develop their skills.
