We are seeking an experienced Assistant Data Centre Manager to join a 24/7 critical environment operations team. This role is ideal for a senior shift engineer or team leader ready to take the next step in their career, with a clear pathway toward Data Centre Manager level responsibilities.
This is a hands-on, leadership role within a live, mission-critical environment, overseeing all aspects of MEP operations and ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of engineers and technicians to ensure high performance and consistent standards.
* Ensure the safety of all personnel and equipment on-site.
* Oversee and manage day-to-day MEP operations within the facility.
* Maintain all critical plant and infrastructure in line with industry best practices and manufacturer specifications.
* Act as a key liaison with construction and project teams to ensure facilities remain compliant with all statutory requirements.
* Manage change, incident, and problem resolution processes.
* Maintain high standards in written communication, reporting, and documentation.
* Champion continuous improvement and drive innovation across all operational areas.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* AP15 Qualification (Authorised Person – High Voltage)
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in data centre operations.
* Proven experience maintaining mechanical and electrical infrastructure in a mission-critical environment.
* Strong understanding of data centre operational protocols and restrictions.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing conflicting priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 2+ years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
* Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Salary:
£55,000 - £65,000 per annum
