Are you passionate about renewable energy and looking for a role where you can make a tangible impact? We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Solar PV Surveyor/Designer to join our team and help us deliver high-quality solar PV installations to commercial properties.
In this full-time, permanent role, you’ll be responsible for conducting site surveys to assess the feasibility of solar PV installations. You will then take responsibility to design PV systems, and working closely with our project teams to ensure successful delivery. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will also be the key point of contact with customers, addressing any questions and providing support throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct site surveys on commercial properties to assess the feasibility of solar PV installations
* Collect and analyse data related to energy usage, roof space, shading, site logistics, and access
* Design solar PV systems using specialised software
* Provide technical support and guidance to the project team, ensuring smooth communication and project flow
* Respond to customer queries, providing clear and helpful information about solar PV systems during site surveys
* Work collaboratively with the project team to finalise system designs and prepare installation documentation
* Assist in the installation and commissioning of solar PV systems
What you'll need to succeed

This role is perfect for individuals with an electrical background—whether through formal education or hands-on experience as an electrician—who are looking to transition into a new career, or those who have worked on building sites and are ready to take the next step in their professional journey. Essentials:
* Understanding of electrical principles, construction codes, or building structures (e.g. roof types)
* Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical details to non-technical customers
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks effectively
* Strong IT skills and experience with design software
* A valid full driver’s license
Desirable:
* Experience in the solar PV industry is a plus, but not essential
