Cerebral Palsy Support Worker - Waking Nights
This is a waking night role supporting a young individual with cerebral palsy. The role involves delivering personalized care, assisting with daily living activities, administering medication, and providing emotional support and companionship.
Main Duties of the Job
We have a new opportunity for a Support Worker to join our client in Epsom, for waking night shifts - 2/3 nights per week working 12 hour shifts, with potential to increase/have flexibility in shifts. Our client is a young individual who is non-verbal with dystonia, is gastro-fed but not during the night and has recently had a ceiling hoist fitted. He currently requires 2:1 care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering personalized care routines
* Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
* Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
* Providing emotional support and companionship.
* Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
* Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
* Female Carer
* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
* Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
* Driver - Not essential for the night shifts.
* Urdu/Farsi speaker desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Flexibility to work the specified hours.
