About The Role
* Full training support package available.
The role will involve a significant element of routine reporting (preparation of management accounts), but will also require the delivery of substantial "value added" services to the wider business (variance analysis, preparation of presentations, ad hoc projects etc.) allowing non-financial managers to place the numbers into the wider business context.
This is a role that can offer the hungry junior accountant a great opportunity to hone their skills.
Responsibilities
* Produce monthly sales reports and KPIs.
* Work closely alongside sales and marketing managers to assist and challenge them.
* Communication of financial data directly with sales force and management.
* Assist with month end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Preparation of Company, Department and Regional P&Ls.
* Variance analysis and reviews with budget holders.
* Compile Budgets and Profit Review forecasts.
* Assist with yearend audit.
* Compile and present clear analysis of new business strategies.
* Develop business processes.
* Assist with statutory accounts, national statistics returns, tax returns, etc.
* Prepare ad hoc management information for sales team meetings using Powerpoint.
* Ad hoc analysis of financial data.
About You
* A solid grounding in accounting is expected, at least to AAT level, and almost certainly ready to start or part way through ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualification. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to be a fully qualified accountant at the first attempt.
* Experience of working with non-financial staff, particularly sales staff, would be a distinct advantage.
* Advanced Excel skills including regularly setting up of pivot tables and use of complex formulas including Lookups, If, and Sumif.
* Proficiency with data manipulation tools and use of an ERP system will also be a distinct advantage. Confidence in dealing with varied IT systems is essential. Reasonable knowledge of other Microsoft packages expected.
* This role will suit someone who has already mastered dealing with the details and is ready to complement this (detailed work) with wider financial business skills.
