A key focus will be building and nurturing strong employer partnerships, ensuring an exceptional student experience that supports career growth and success. Your contributions will be instrumental in helping UoPL reach its strategic goal of becoming a national leader in student employability, offering students the best opportunities to thrive both locally and nationally. Key Responsibilities: Lead and Innovate: Develop, shape, and spearhead a diverse portfolio of student careers and employability initiatives, including internships and placements, ensuring UoPL students enjoy a consistently high-quality experience. Empower Students: Organise and deliver tailored workshops, seminars, and one-on-one guidance sessions covering critical employability skills such as CV writing, interview prep, presentation practice, and career development. Collaborate with students and staff to assess and meet their evolving skills and development needs. Employer Engagement Vision: Take the lead in establishing a clear and strategic direction for employer engagement and partnerships, supporting the growth of UoPL’s emerging Employability and Careers programme. Build Strong Partnerships: Cultivate and expand multi-dimensional relationships with a wide range of external organisations, recruiters, and employers. Collaborate at a strategic level to create opportunities and establish clear talent pipelines for students and graduates. Foster Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across UoP to enhance employability services and coordinate with the Alumni Office to identify collaborative employer engagement projects and student job opportunities. Enhance Reputation: Elevate UoPL’s profile by delivering exceptional service to employers and leveraging your network to create impactful events and work-integrated learning opportunities, ensuring students are well-prepared for the workplace. Grow Local Opportunities: Drive partnerships with employers and partner institutions to increase internship opportunities, particularly in the Greater London area, while helping students secure valuable internships to enhance their learning. Careers Fair Leadership: Take charge of organising, promoting, and facilitating UoPL’s highly anticipated careers fair, offering students and employers a platform for engagement. Promote Services: Champion employability and career services, ensuring the UoPL website and printed materials are regularly updated and reflect the latest offerings and opportunities available to students. Additional Duties: Take on other tasks as reasonably required by the Director of Operations and Student Services, contributing to the continuous improvement of UoPL’s employability initiatives. With a background in careers and employability services, you bring a wealth of experience in creating innovative programmes that empower students to reach their full potential. You're a strategic thinker with the ability to lead and shape initiatives, particularly around employer engagement, while ensuring every student benefits from top-tier support and development opportunities.You’re an excellent communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, from students to senior employers, and you thrive in collaborative environments. Essential and Desirable Requirements: Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree at 2.1 level (or equivalent) - Essential Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Masters/PhD) - Desirable Relevant Professional Membership (e.g. International Association of Career Advisors (IACA)) - Desirable Experience (Essential) Minimum of five years relevant post-qualification experience in delivering successful employability and careers functions within a competitive HE environment Experience establishing and developing employer engagement and partnerships in an HE environment Experience in the delivery of high standards of external interaction and engagement within an employer-facing environment Experience of developing effective internal and external networks to enhance outcomes and foster collaborative practices, as well as collaborative working within a professional services environment Technical Skills In-depth understanding of the educational environment and the current graduate recruitment markets within the UK - Essential In-depth understanding of the educational environment and the current graduate recruitment markets globally - Desirable Competencies (Essential) Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills An ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and networks Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Must be comfortable with uncertainty and able to demonstrate a flexible and pragmatic approach to work-based challenges You may have experience in the following: Career Coach, Student Career Advisor, Career Development Officer, Student Employability Consultant, Careers & Futures Advisor, etc.REF-220895
