The Admissions Tutor has overall responsibility for the recruitment, assessment, and selection of undergraduate applicants to the College. They are expected to work closely with Directors of Studies to admit students with high academic potential, and to provide advice on contextual factors in the admissions process. They will also have the overall responsibility for the coordination of postgraduate admissions to the College, liaising with academic Departments, Schools, and the University’s Postgraduate Admissions Office as required.They will keep fully informed about admissions-related matters in UK higher education. Monitor and respond to broader national trends in applications and admissions. Working with the Admissions Office, the Tutorial Office and the Senior Tutor, they are expected to provide strategic oversight of the College’s recruitment activities, and to promote and evaluate the success of its Widening Participation work at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The postholder will attend all meetings of the Governing Body and will be either a member of, or in attendance at, those Committees relevant to the post, such as the Education Committee.
